Cath Sweetman
Cath Sweetman's children's picture book, My Sister is an Alien was highly commended at the Cheltenham Illustration Awards.
The brief she was given was called 'True Stories' and it asked for narrative work to be submitted.
Her book explores the changing relationship between a young child and his older sibling who has reached puberty.
She chose to use subtle humour to explore the painful transition that occurs in the relationship, and hopes that this humour will initiate a therapeutic conversation between the adult (reader) and child (being read to).
