On our BA (Hons) Film and Video Production course you'll be working with the latest digital imaging and editing equipment, traditional 16mm film and in our Mac suites at Markeaton Street.

You'll have the opportunity to get involved with a range of projects that will give you vital practical experience of making films and working in the industry. The annual FIVE/24 challenge gives aspiring film makers a single day to shoot, edit and complete a film which is then screened at Derby Quad at the end of the 24 hour period. The competition also ties in with ID Fest - a major new film festival that's held right here in Derby.
Exhibit your work
In your final year you'll take part in the Degree Show. You'll showcase your work at a film premiere evening at Derby Quad, which includes a VIP reception where you can make vital industry contacts.
Industry links
Your lecturers are highly skilled practitioners with industry experience, which means you'll gain valuable knowledge and vital skills.
You'll also have the chance to attend guest lectures. Renowned Brit-Horror film Director Steve Sheil recently presented a special screening of his movie, "Mum and Dad" followed by a Q&A session with students.
