  • You're working as a photographer and want a recognised qualification
  • You're working full time and want to develop your photography skills.

About the course

This course is designed to help you to learn how to use photography to communicate your ideas and feelings to others. The introduction of a broad range of techniques means that you can explore the possibilities that photography has to offer so that over your time studying you'll become confident in your skills as a photographer.

Photography has the ability to educate, stimulate, shock, document in minute detail and convey emotion. It's a means of communication and through exploring the possibilities of photography, we aim to expand your thinking and development not just as a photographer but as an individual.

The course integrates Personal Development Planning in a way that stimulates your photographic practice from personal career directions through to reflection on your progress and supporting your development as a professional practitioner.
The course uses technology enhanced learning to support your study through the use of online learning materials, galleries, slideshows, e-books, screencasts and videos as well as developing your skills in establishing digital photographic workflows and image management.

As with all courses whether full time or part time, you are expected to dedicate time outside the taught and practical sessions to work on projects as well as engaging with the online learning materials.

We have strong links with local businesses and professionals, so you'll have the chance to develop your knowledge in commercial and industrial situations, through 'live' projects, client briefs and work experience.
