Animation
The explosion of digital animation in advertising, entertainment, television and on the web, make Animation an exciting course to study with lots of opportunities when you graduate. You will need to have a real passion for animation and you'll learn about sequence, story telling, sound, scripting, digital software and you'll do lots of drawing.
You could join the thriving community of artists, designers and makers who have businesses at the University's Banks Mill Studios. As well as providing workspace, we provide business support activity including one-to-one advice, workshops, seminars and bi-annual Open Studios.
Show off your work
There are plenty of opportunities to get your work noticed by the outside world. Everyone puts on a public exhibition in the final year, as part of the arts, design and technology Degree Shows, and we'll be looking for animations to show on the BBC Big Screen in Derby.
Have you thought about taking our MDes?
It's an undergraduate and postgraduate course combined. You'll study for four years and gain a masters degree in Animation.
It means you don't have to worry about the expense and inconvenience of relocating for a separate postgraduate year. And you can get a student loan for all four years of the course. Find out more about the MDes.
