BA (Hons) Creative Product Design graduate sets up vintage clothing business

Sam Docker and his business partner Lee Bostack set up Derby based Princes Vintage clothing retail business in 2004. They originally started operating from Sam's bedroom! Their commitment to vintage fashion has taken them on a journey of success and they now operate from a warehouse and office unit in Derby city centre where they have a self-contained photography studio.

From bedroom beginnings to professional photography studio and contacts worldwide

Sam and Lee have developed contacts in France, Holland, Canada and the USA through trading on eBay. Their fashion range covers all of the eras and they recently exhibited at the 'Vintage at Goodwood festival' which was very exciting for our graduates.

Sam said, "It's taken a lot of preparation and planning, let's hope the wealth of vintage lovers takes inspiration from our range!"

The future looks glam!

Sam's business partner Lee said, "To be invited to the vintage clothing market place at Goodwood is a great achievement, and really puts us on the vintage map."

The festival was the first of a series of annual events and featured fashion label Red or Dead, leading DJs, bands, collectors and contemporary brands alongside vintage clothing inspired by Britain's cultural heritage.
