Annette Jansen

Annette graduated with a BA (Hons) in Visual Communications (Graphic Design) in 2010.

Annette has always had an interest in art since she was a little girl. She said: "I have always been excited by art ever since I can remember, being creative is a real passion."

Annette studied fine art for two years at Chesterfield College where she developed an interest in photographic and digital art. This inspired her to take her qualifications to the next level; so she enrolled on to the graphic design programme at the University of Derby.

Annette is now a Graphic Designer for Moore Large based in Derby.

Not only is Annette a graphic designer but also a practicing freelance artist

Originally from Brisbane, Australia, Annette is also a Practicing Freelance Artist and is a member of an art co-operative, Banks Street Arts based in Sheffield.

Annette said: "I find the excitement of producing new styles very rewarding which has led me to produce a varied portfolio of work".

Networking has enabled Annette to build up her reputation as an artist

Annette has exhibited and showcased her work to a wide audience at a number of festivals, including the Galvanize Festival, which have led to paid commissions.

Annette attended the Ladies Only Business Networking Event organised by us, the University of Derby Alumni Relations team which resulted in her generating a number of leads for her to follow up.
Annette said "I attend numerous networking events, exhibitions and I am registered on a selection of arts websites to promote my work. They help me to generate great leads."
