Life after graduation

Samahat now works in Field Services Support at General Electric, Power & Water based in Doha, Qatar and found studying at the University of Derby helped him gain technical knowledge and develop a professional approach to work.

January starter

Samahat found out about the option of starting a course in January at Derby after hearing a presentation by University staff at the College of the North Atlantic, Qatar, which he was attending at the time.

Following the meeting he used online forums and Facebook to find out more about studying and living in the UK, the course and the University, all of which helped him make the decision to choose to start his course in January.

Samahat added: “I joined the University of Derby in my third year by transferring my credits from my former college. The other advantage this early start gave me was two extra months of vacation to plan and work on my final year thesis, which led to me achieving an A grade.”

“My time at Derby not only helped me gain technical knowledge by studying in an overseas environment it helped improve my communication skills and work attitude, for which I am thankful.”
