To improve my knowledge of the global travel and tourism industry leading to me supporting the development and growth of the tourism industry in Malaysia.
Why did you choose to study the course at Derby?
The University is one of the top universities to offer the BA (Hons) Tourism Management course plus I wanted to study in the UK so I could learn about English culture. At the Buxton campus the international student community is small and friendly; everyone knows and supports each other.

I had a great time - the information and knowledge I gained has helped my professional development and career. I only wished I could have stayed longer!
How did you find the lecturers and the support they gave you?
The lecturers supported me though out my studies plus they helped me settle into living and studying in a new country.
What are your future plans?
To set up my own travel agency which I'm currently looking into but I may work outside of Malaysia, in either Manchester or London in the future. Also I have a dream of having my own resort or hotel one day.
What would you say to anyone thinking for coming to study this course?
I’d highly recommend it; the Buxton campus is really friendly with staff ready to assist you at all times, you’ll feel right at home.
