Facilities and opportunities
Markeaton Street
Research in the Faculty of Art Design and Technology is based both in a new purpose built building at Markeaton Street and at the main University site, Kedleston Road.
The facilities include:
- Open Studios
- Extensive workshops for both chemical and digital photography
- Facilities for our moving image makers to use both film and digital processes
- Fashion and textile design studios
- Extensive Mac labs
- Craft workshops for wood, metal, ceramics, plaster and jewellery
- Offices for all full time students equipped with computer, printer, telephone, photocopying etc at our Kedleston Road site
- 'Hot desks' for all part time students
Opportunities include:
- Competitive grants for conference attendance
- Annual PGR conference run by and for PGR students at the University
- Attending research seminars in the different research groups and centres
- Teacher training and opportunities to teach
