Former Derby student, Nosheen Iqbal is the presenter of two channels on the emerging Asian TV channel DM Digital.
She joined the channel shortly after completing her Master's degree at Derby in 2007. She graduated at Derby with an MA ADAPT (Art and Design, Advanced Practice and Theories) degree - at our Awards Ceremonies, alongside hundreds of other students.
When Nosheen first joined the channel in April 2007 she presented a live interactive chat show called Assanigallan and a music show called Just Pulse on air.
High-profile interviews
So far she has interviewed a series of high-profile people including Humayan Akhtar Khan (the Pakistan Government's Minister for Commerce), Bollywood actors such as Kabir Bedi, Salman Khan, Abbas Khan, and Bride and Prejudice lead actress Aishwarya Rai, as well as covering the Bollywood Oscars - the International Indian Film Academy (IFFA) awards in June with co-host Arshad Awan.
Audience of about 12 million across the globe
Nosheen, from Derby, said: "I really enjoyed my time at the University. My producers heard about my graduation and covered the event as part of their news coverage.
"It was great for the channel as it helped boost their profile further, it's also good for the University as the channel is watched by an audience of about 12 million across the globe."
Nosheen has a long association with the University, having first joined Derby in 2001 and studied on an access course before moving onto her degree in BA (Hons) Textile Studies and finally her Master's course.
Her most recent tutor Professor Sebastian Blackie, an international expert in ceramics said:

DM Digital which can be accessed on Sky TV, Channel 802, is the brainchild of chairman Dr Liaqat Malik, who set up the enterprise two years ago. It already has 2.2m viewers in the UK, as well as the wider TV audience in other countries based in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
DM Digital TV positions itself as an Asian business and news channel that provides news and information on global developments with Asian perspectives.
The TV station reports from the major Asian cities including Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Delhi, Bombay and key Western cities including Manchester, London, Glasgow, Brussels, Paris, Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and also from Africa and Middle East.
Dr Malik, an expert in Law, was a member of the Immigration Law Panel from 1999-2004 and holds a PhD in Administrative and Constitutional Law from the University of Manchester. He has also been a legal practitioner and involved in various human rights activities.
