January 2012 arrivals
Welcome to our new students starting in January 2012, and welcome back to our returning students!
When should I arrive?
Please click on our A-Z list of courses for details of your induction schedule.
Why do I need to attend an induction?
You must attend your induction session because:
- You'll find out lots of important information for the coming year
- You'll meet your lecturers and also the other students on the course
- It'll help you to find your way around
- You'll enrol for your course
Important
Even if you have already enrolled online, you still need to attend your induction session as you'll also need to confirm your enrolment.
Enrolling
There are two stages to enrolling:
Enrolment - you do this online or when you arrive as part of your induction.
If you've enrolled online and have any queries over your module choices, you'll be able to speak to an academic from your programme during your induction.
Confirmation of Enrolment - this takes place during induction and you MUST attend whether you enrol on-campus or online.
The Confirmation of Enrolment process activates your enrolment so that you become an official student. You will then be able to collect your ID card and access University facilities and services.
If you have arranged a student loan you will start to receive your loan payments once you have been through the Confirmation of Enrolment process. It also releases any bursary payments you may be eligible to.
Finding your way
We know that finding your way around can be quite daunting when you first arrive, so please take a look at these maps and floorplans that'll help you until you settle in.
