International
The Faculty of Arts, Design and Technology has links with institutions in a number of countries around the world. Many of our art and design staff and students exhibit work in galleries, exhibitions and fashion shows from Paris to Beijing All staff are also active in presenting research papers at conferences and information concerning their activities can be found on the Research area of the website.
We also have a number of formalised links with institutions like the Vakalo School of Art and Design in Athens.
Exchanges
American Exchange
American Studies students spend a semester studying in the USA as part of their study programme. The programme works on the basis of a student-for-student exchange and we normally have approximately 20 students a year who exchange. At the moment we have exchanges with four American institutions.
Students from other subject areas may also have the opportunity to exchange with American students.
Socrates
The Faculty operates Socrates links across Europe for staff and students with a number of countries. Each year, different universities and programmes take part. The programme gives students or staff the opportunity to work in another country for a number of weeks, exchanging ideas and cultural references. In many cases students can use the credits they build up in another country towards their degrees in this country.
