Welcome to the Faculty of Arts, Design and Technology at the University of Derby.
Our faculty covers arts, design and technology in their broadest sense. As well as focusing on the subject areas in the traditional way, we also promote the interaction of art and design with media, technology and the humanities. We've evolved over recent years to reflect how these disciplines are influencing industry and the economy - and the need for you to be employable when you graduate.
With a passion for ideas and creativity as our ethos as well as our extensive expertise in all areas, our focus is on making sure you also have the knowledge, skills and aptitude for your future career.
We take an applied approach to learning and have built strong links with industry, actively encouraging work placements and experience. Complementing this is a staff team that continue to research and practice in each member's particular fields, ensuring that we are up to date with our thinking and equipment.
We have a new new £21m building for the faculty, Markeaton Street, which features high tech modern equipment.
