The Unibus (Number 6) service runs from just outside the front doors of Derby Station. This is a 12 minute service running Monday - Friday in term time. The service runs all year round, although less frequently outside of term time. Subsidised unibus tickets are available for staff and students.

www.railcard.co.uk offers a 'young persons' railcard that could save you a 1/3 off your fare throughout the country. You can apply for a 'young persons' card if you are 16-25, or 26 and over but in full-time education.
