The student experience at UoD

Wednesday, 11 May at 12pm - 1.30pm

Session Details

In recent years, the term ‘the student experience,’ has become associated with improvements in practical processes, student satisfaction surveys, management metrics and consumerist approaches to education. This session seeks to move beyond this definition, to examine the actual multiple experiences of students at UoD.

Using research and snap polling conducted at Derby, we will examine some of the assumptions about student behaviour, factors of influence and the ways in which different experiences become integrated into one holistic experience. We will then use these discussions to identify practical steps lecturers, programme teams, and personal tutors, can take to influence the real, felt experience of their students.
