Models of tutorial activity: Student centred learning

In the realms of contemporary teaching and learning in a post 92 University environment, we sometimes paradoxically argue for increasing innovative components such of student centred learning on our programmes of study, whilst at the same time attempting to achieve this through a higher educational mechanism which can at times appear to inhibit creativity, risk taking etc, in favour of traditional modes of programme design. When we think about designing student based learning, are we asking ourselves the right questions? This session will explore these challenges using models of tutorial led activity and student centred learning.
